NEW POLL: MAJORITY OF FLORIDIANS DISAGREE WITH DESANTIS ON MEDICAID EXPANSION

Today, new polling from Mason-Dixon Polling and Strategy revealed that the overwhelming majority of Floridians support Medicaid expansion, something Ron DeSantis has refused to do. DeSantis’s opposition to expanding Medicaid has left Florida as one of only ten states in the country not to expand the program, despite having some of the highest health care costs in the country. Florida Democratic Party Spokesperson Devon Cruz released the following statement about the poll:


BREAKING: DESANTIS PROPOSES RAISING COSTS ON WORKING CLASS FLORIDIANS

As Ron DeSantis took his shadow campaign to Michigan yesterday, he outlined a new proposal to raise costs on working class Floridians in his ongoing war with Disney. In a question and answer session at Hillsdale College, DeSantis brought up the possibility of imposing tolls on roads around Walt Disney World in Central Florida, as a form of punishment for the company.


DESANTIS’S ENDORSERS OPPOSED DISASTER RELIEF FOR FLORIDA

Ron DeSantis’s shadow campaign received another endorsement yesterday, this time from fellow right-wing Republican Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky. Not only has Massie built his reputation as one of the most extreme Republicans in Congress – he’s repeatedly tried to block desperately needed federal relief for hurricanes and natural disasters, including most recently, opposing crucial relief for Hurricane Ian recovery efforts in Florida.
